Special Tool ordering process for our Independent repairers in the US and Canada. All Volvo Special Tools are stored in and distributed from our Volvo Parts Distribution centers. Independent repairs and Volvo customer can order tools through the Volvo Cars Bookstore and have them drop shipped directly to their location. By bringing the process in-house , we can take advantage of some process efficiencies not possible before. For example, lead times for certain out of stock items will be shortened.
Occasionally a tool ordered may not be available in the US. To save you costs on shipping and handling we will hold the entire order until ALL tools are available. If the stock is available in Sweden, the ETA will be about two weeks. We will open a help request to notify you of the back-order.
Volvo Special Tools make certain repairs possible and improve the reliability of others. When needed, special tools are mentioned by tool number in all repair procedures. Additionally, Volvo Special Tool Bulletins, which include comprehensive lists of "mandatory" tools, show and describe many special tools. Referring to these sources and noting tool description and part numbers will simplify your tool ordering process.
Use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for special tools by part number or description. Or click on "Store" to see a full list of all special tools. Be sure to reference VIDA to confirm the correct special tool for the job because there can be multiple tools with the same description. Work should only be performed by a Certified Electric Vehicle Technician.

Prior to the start of any service work performed, on an electrically powered vehicle’s high voltage system, a risk assessment / safety check shall be performed. See *Service Manger Bulletin 00-015

All tool sales are final. For purchase and sale in US and Canada only. No return for credit or refund will be accepted. Tools are warrantied for defects in material and workmanship for 12 months from date of purchase. Tools claimed under the above mentioned warranty may be required to be returned for inspection at purchaser’s expense. Warranty coverage can be claimed by entering a Help Request.
